Welcome to the Royal Burgh of Lanark Community Council Website!

This Web site is maintained to both inform and involve the people of Lanark in the work of the Community Council. However, it is hoped that the wider community in the world beyond the boundaries of the Royal Burgh will find the site of interest.

Community Councils form the third tier of government in Scotland and they were established to represent the interests and opinions of the local community to local authorities and other government/public agencies.

All meetings of the Community Council are open to members of the public and the press.

Please note that Community Councils are apolitical and cannot make any representations along political party lines; the interests of the local community are paramount.
